THE PLACE WHERE
CYBER MEETS SECURITY

In CYBERSEC HUB we believe that connecting
means creating and that every network is more
than the sum of its parts. That is why we
launched this platform which brings together
people from across boundaries. From the private
to public sector, from the technical to political
spectrum, we connect all those who want to
forge a secure cyber future.

CYBERGY THAT CONNECTS

CYBERSEC HUB builds on the synergy between stakeholders
from the Małopolska Region in Poland, with the city of
Krakow as its strategic center. Krakow is one of the largest
start-up hubs in Europe with over two hundred ICT
businesses, unparalleled investment opportunities, and
access to talent, funding and the entire EU market. This
unique environment is what attracts global IT companies to
the area, many of whom have already moved their Research,
Development and Security Operations Centres to Małopolska.
Krakow also hosts the European Cybersecurity Forum -
CYBERSEC, one of the main public policy conferences on
cybersecurity.

CREATING THE CENTER OF EXCELLENCE
FOR CYBER FUTURE

The main goal of our platform is to harvest this accumulated
technology, investment and research in order to boost
innovations and create a new European “Cyber-Silicon Valley”
in Krakow. In the coming years, we will engage stakeholders
to establish a center of excellence in cybersecurity which
offers a wide range of opportunities from educational offers,
to research and investment possibilities, to innovative
products. That is why CYBERSEC HUB already brings together
academia and business, Polish and foreign companies,
start-ups, as well as local authorities and NGOs.

SECURITY THROUGH INNOVATION

One of the initial project run by our platform is CYBERSEC
ACCELERATOR which helps ICT and cybersecurity startups
and SMEs from Małopolska to reach international markets. In
the run-up to the project, an expert panel selected 7 of the
most innovative businesses amongst the applicants.
CYBERSEC ACCELERATOR has officially launched during the
2nd European Cybersecurity Forum CYBERSEC 2016, and it
will not only train startups and SMEs’ teams but also connect
them with mentors as well as potential customers and
investors.

ACCELERATED STARTUPS:

CYBERSEC HUB is also attracting investors through specially designed programs. During the 2016 CYBERSEC INVEST, participants from all around the world will be provided with key strategic insights into Krakow’s ICT and cybersecurity landscape. Moreover, we will facilitate numerous networking sessions and facilitate interactions between investors and ICT start-ups, leading companies, venture capitalists, global CEOs, senior policymakers, government officials, innovators and leading cybersecurity experts.

EUROPEAN CYBERSECURITY MARKET

We believe that fruitful cooperation within the cybersecurity market must be based on an open dialogue and by sharing knowledge. That is why we are releasing a new quarterly journal, European Cybersecurity Market. For those wanting to take part in debate about research, innovation and investment in cybersecurity while making a meaningful impact, this is the place to be. Why this debate is so important? Well, the numbers speak for themselves.

Between 2004 and 2015 the global cyber security market grew from$3.5 billion to over $75 billion, with cyber security having the fastestyearly growth among all ICT sectors (Visiongain 2015, Gartner Inc.2015). It is estimated that by 2020 the cyber security market mayreach up to $170 billion annually (Markets and Markets 2015).Importantly, North America and Europe are the regions which areclearly driving this growth (TechSci Research 2015).

Our platform is based on people and their ideas

We are open to those of you who want to build the CYBERSEC community with us. Whether you are in academia, a CEO, an investor or the owner of a startup, you are invited become an important part of our network. If you are interested in the project, please contact us - cybersechub@ik.org.pl

„I am pleased that during European Cybersecurity Forum 2016 the CYBERSEC HUB initative will be launched. The project may play an essential role in the economic development of the Małopolska region, futheremore it might boost the Polish innovation.”

Andrzej Duda
President of the Republic of Poland
in his letter to CYBERSEC Forum 2016 participants

"Krakow is an ideal centre for the development of specialised IT services because of the large potential aggregated in two key sectors. Firstly, the science – we have excellent academics on many universities which are educating top specialists in the field. Secondly, a huge entrepreneurial ecosystem with many firms specialized in the high-tech connected with cybersecurity. This co-operation of academia and business, theory and practice is something that makes difference and brings results."

Jacek Majchrowski
Mayor of the City of Krakow
in his speech during CYBERSEC Forum 2016

"I would like to emphasise that the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, as well as the whole Government, will follow closely and consistently support the CYBERSEC HUB initiative."
